To facilitate startup, SEP has affiliated with the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technologies (CEERT), an organization with a 25-year history of research and advocacy in support of the advancement of energy efficiency and renewable energy. CEERT is serving as SEP’s Fiscal Sponsor, and will be an incubator for SEP until the organization becomes IRS-approved and self-sufficient. During this period, SEP will effectively operate as a part of CEERT in accordance with a sponsorship agreement.
SEP has filed an application with the IRS as a 501 (c )(3) corporation. At this point, we expect SEP to become an independent entity after we receive IRS approval (mid-2016), but we also expect the relationship with CEERT to remain strong.Contributions to SEP can be made through CEERT. Those considering a contribution should read this letter describing CEERT’s role as SEP’s Fiscal Sponsor. Checks should be made payable to CEERT and mailed to 1100 11th Street, Suite 311, Sacramento, CA 95814, Attention: Kimber West.
